HURRICANE HELENE UPDATE
Dear Guest,
We thank you for your support during this time of catastrophe. Our beloved Inn has been destroyed by Hurricane Helene. The back half and foundation is extremely compromised. This was our livelihood and we loved it. Our hearts are broken, but our spirit remains intact. Many of you have tried to reach out by email or phone, however we do not have service unless we leave town and gas is scarce.
Kristen is staying busy supporting the First Responders and I (Nick) have been working around the clock on search and rescue teams. We actually saved a dog the other day and reunited it with its owners. It was a much needed highlight of our day.
Chimney Rock is destroyed. The village is not the same. The river and main street were one. The Inn has over 2 ft of mud all over the first floor. The stagecoach restaurant is split in half and mini golf is gone, the land has completely washed away. Unfortunately, we don't think insurance will help. We are praying FEMA will. Funds are limited, but we will find a way to get through this. The National Guard, Coast Guard, and rescue crews from as far North as Canada are here. Today the NYFD and NYPD arrived to help support the first responders
We will rebuild and get through this! Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
PS, we know a lot of you want to send supplies, however we are ok right now. We may need help on the next round and rebuilding when the time comes. We will keep you informed as much as possible.
We love you all, and loved having you as part of our family for the past 4 years.
Your Innkeepers
